I really like this DVD. I was skeptical about it at first because I thought "10 minutes? How much can you really work your body in 10 minutes?" But I am glad I ordered this! Each segment (legs, abs, arms, etc) is just 10 minutes long and she really digs deep to hit each muscle!! The nice thing about this DVD is that you can incorporate the segments in between your cardio or other sculpting work you might be doing. Also, I like that you can do each move with however much weight you are comfortable with. I typically do them with 3 pound hand weights. You don't need much weight to do these exercises effectively! This is also great if you are short on time but still want to work those muscles! This DVD is a great addition to any workout routine.
Once upon a time videos like this were SO amazing, SO revolutionary, and SO ideal for the busy lifestyle. I bought many, many of these ten-minute solution videos and loved how easy they were to follow, how adaptable they were to people who needed a little less or little more from their workout, and - of course - the aged music and outfits made for bit of a giggle, too.
However... we live in a digital, streaming world. You can find these videos, or videos similar, or any video for any length of time for any area of the body on the internet FOR FREE now. Want to work out your left butt cheek for seven minutes and twenty two seconds to a woman yelling at you bootcamp style? It's out there. Want to target just your biceps and shoulders, but not your upper back or chest for fifteen minutes by attractive twenty-somethings from England? That exists, too.
So three stars: 1, because videos like this are just totally unnecessary (especially at the price tag they're being...
Completely out of shape, so while I wanted to see results, I also wanted to ensure I didn't cause an injury right at the beginning (been there, done that to my knee -- lingered for months). This seems to be a very good routine that will get me in shape before I try more intensive workouts. It consists of four 10 minute segments that concentrates on thighs, abs, arms, or buns, plus a 10 minute power stretch. When it comes to exercise, I get bored easily or don't want to spend hours, so the short routines keep me from putting it off. Then before I know it, I've gone thru all 5. It also gives the option of setting them up in the order you wish. Cindy also gives suggestions for making the exercise harder if you're at that point. I've been doing all 5 for a month now and the first thing to go was that muffin top. I definitely feel it working to tighten those muscles. Now if I can just find a 10 minute solution for wrinkles...
