Our black nailess sawtooth hangers are made of steel with a black oxide finish. Each sawtooth has two pronged "legs" that enable it to be attached to a wood picture frame without screws or nails. The hardened finish is strong to prevent the sawtooth from bending while hammering it into the frame. Nailess Sawtooth Hangers install very quickly--an important advantage if you have a lot of frames to hang. Pilot holes are usually not necessary unless you are using very hard woods like oak or ash.
Due to the black oxide finish these sawtooths have a thin oil coating to prevent rusting.
