18 Pound Pull Strength Gold Silver Metals Jewelry Test Magnet
A must have for coin shops, metals dealers, recyclers, antique buyers and collectors! Perfect size and strength to carry in your pocket or purse. Strong N52 grade 18lb pull strength. Perfect strength for most metal testing.
Convenient & handy rare earth magnet. Stronger than a regular magnet!Perfect for garage & estate sales. Check your jewelry at home! If it doesn't stick to a strong magnet, and is marked 14K or Sterling, it's most likely real gold or silver.
Hand machined and polished here in the USA! Quickly and easily identify plated jewelry where steel is often the base metal. Excellent choice for checking gold and silver coins. Real gold and silver coins do not stick to a magnet.
Handy for Automotive and Auto Body Shops! Easily identify bondo areas. Our vinyl cap protects your car's finish when you slide the magnet across the surface!
Quality craftsmanship. Made of solid brass. Made in the USA!
Retrieval And Metal Testing Magnet. Dimensions are: 3/4" (19mm) diameter x 7/8" (22mm) tall head, 2 1/2" (64mm) overall length, 3/8" (10mm) diameter handle, 1/2" (13mm) diameter heavy-duty stainless steel split ring. Small, yet strong magnetic pull. We have mounted a strong 1/2" diameter x 1/2" tall cylinder N52 grade neodymium-iron-boron magnet in a brass case for industrial use. It comes with an extra heavy duty split ring for attaching a hook, rope, wire, or fishing line. NOTE: Some people find this magnet a little too weak for use as a stud finder, and some find it adequate. I would suggest you look at our 40lb, and 54lb styles for that particular use. Here are some possible uses: Identify/sort costume (fake) jewelry, which often uses steel as the base material under the plating. Identify and sort steel grades and metal alloys that contain iron or cobalt. Identify/sort chrome plated items from polished aluminum, silver, and non-magnetic grades of stainless steel. Identify/sort solid brass and bronze from plated steel items (handy in the antique market and hardware store). The magnet insert is rated at 18 lbs (as with all magnets, this rating depends on the magnet mating to a smooth, flat, unpainted steel surface). It holds a 13 lb sledge hammer with rough and rounded edges in mid air with no problems. The brass casing protects the magnet from chipping and breaking, and makes removing iron and steel shavings much easier. A tight fitting vinyl cap is also included to protect the magnet when it is not in use. This also helps keep the magnet from attracting iron dust and steel chips, as well as offering a little buffer to the magnet's strength when it is not being used. Caution: do not store this magnet near cell phones and credit cards. This size is a little too heavy for your key chain. See our smaller sizes for hanging on your key chains. Proudly made in the USA!
