Slim Sculpting is geared toward improving your fitness level using only a kettlebell or a single dumbbell. It's important to note that using a kettlebell really does amp up the workout!
Both workouts require great form and precise execution. There are no over-the-top positions and no over-stressing impact on the joints. All controlled moves selected are geared toward slimming down your hips and outer thighs, trimming your waistline, tightening your glutes, sculpting your arms and burning lots of calories!
...But Remember...FORM IS CRUCIAL!
Because the selection of exercises target each muscle group without over-taxing your body... these workouts fit in nicely with my philosophy that everyone should train smarter!
It's important to note that although I do use traditional kettlebell (KB) moves, not all of the usual exercises are included. After leading numerous test classes in Olympic lifting and KBs, I have taken out a few standard moves that I determined to be too technical for many. Performing these moves incorrectly not only brings minimal benefits but can really increase the risk of injury.
So instead of focusing on moves like the cleans and snatches, I have focused on the swings.. because the swings are the keystone in KB training.

I have several of Kelly's DVDs but I've never used a kettlebell and didn't know what to expect, but I'm loving it! It's a blast. The day after I was definitely feeling it but in a good way. I rotate several types of workouts, mostly Kelly's plus others like the 30 day shred and pilates but this is my new favorite. It's doing a great job of toning and sculpting all over. There are two kettlebell workouts plus a big choice of pre mixes so you'll never get bored. There are options for working on cardio, abs, upper body, lower body etc. If your very fit, go heavier and if not just follow the person doing the modified moves. You can also use a dumbbell if you don't have a kettlebell. This is a great for all levels of fitness.
This is a good, safe kettlebell workout for those of us who are not "expert" kettlebell users. It works the whole body well (although I feel workout one is harder than workout two), but does not have some of the more complicated kettlebell moves (like snatches) that can be difficult to master. This is my favorite of Kelly's 30 Minutes to Fitness DVDs, and I have several.
Terrific KB workout. Weights and cardio in a 30 minute workout. This is my 3rd Coffey DVD and they have all been excellent.
