Jacq & Jürgen is us. A young couple from Mexico who loves Mexican culture, we'd like to share with the whole world what is Mexico about by sharing our traditions, art & lifestyle through our products, which represents complete communities that have masterized their work from generation to generation.
These baskets were made in Chilapa, a small town in Guerrero, Mexico. This small but beautiful place in Mexico is known for having a great artisan population, greatly recognized for having a wide variety of handcrafts withing the public market and local "tianguis" (improvised markets).
Despite the insecurity problems that rain in this town because of the the cartels control over the square, the town has been recognized as a "Magic Town". We can assure you that is a lovely place, resting and having an ice cream at the local plaza you can breath in peace and joy from its own people. If you come to Acapulco sometime, it's only a 2hr 30 mins trip
