The book includes complete instructions for making each block, along with a CD that contains the necessary templates in five standard block sizes (4.5, 6, 9, 12, and 15 inches). Patterns can be printed as needed using a home computer. The CD also includes basic quilt-making directions. To demonstrate some of the design possibilities, the book contains four complete projects, from a quilt using a single state block to one with a mix of blocks representing a family's history.
