Barrier-free shower stalls are more accessible for people in wheelchairs or with limited mobility to access. Standing water can quickly become a maintenance and safety issue in the bathroom The 96" Collapsible Water Dam is designed to allow wheelchairs and other rolling shower chairs unrestricted access to the shower. Made from a heavy-duty, stain, mold and bacteria resistant foam that collapses when it is stepped on or rolled over. When pressure is removed, the dam's foam returns to its original shape - and it will return to that shape every time. Installing the approximately 1.25" high collapsible water retainer is easy. The dam's double sided water resistant tape that runs along the bottom ensures a secure seal while the dam is collapsed. This self-adhesive tape also protects the dam from the build-up of water and shower debris. Please note: that installation of the dam also requires adhesive caulk along its edge and also to secure the finished, end caps. Cut the strip to the length you need, seal the ends with adhesive caulk and let everything dry. Typically for a rounded style shower stall, it is recommended that you leave several inches of the dam on either side as it follow's the stalls curve. The 96" dam comes with a pair of soft, rubbery, rounded end caps. The dam is only available in white, although the barrier can be painted to match your needs.
