Additional Information

Press-ganged into the Imperial Navy, the academic Charles Askew had by sheer force of mind managed to sidestep the brainwashing techniques so insidiously applied by the Marine Intelligence Bureau and, now in a position of some responsibility, was determined to do something concrete to foment as much internal rebellion as possible against the regime that had, as well as destroying his own life, deliberately set off an interstellar war in order to help maintain its stranglehold on its four thousand or so slave planets.

But after an encouraging start his orderly double life was abruptly turned upside-down before spiralling wildly and bizarrely out of control before running off in directions more agonising and tortuously complex than he could ever have imagined, even in his wildest nightmares!

This novel is a basic essay, or rather not so basic essay on human nature. The problem when one examines the theory behind the authors concept , is frighteningly possibly true! In fact the most frightening aspect is that "possibly" is an understatement. "Probably" seems to be a more accurate term.
Well written fast paced, very reminiscent of the mutineer moon series. If you liked that series you will like this also
