2012 release from the Country singer/songwriter, the follow-up to his hit album The One Behind The Wheel. His studio albums have accounted for more than 20 hit singles on the Billboard country charts, including 11 Top Ten hits. Although he never reached the top of the Billboard country charts on his own, he reached #1 in 2000 as one of two guest vocalists on Kenny Rogers' "Buy Me a Rose", and had two #1s on the RPM country charts in Canada.

I have been a country music fan most of my life and during that time I have admired many artists. In my opinion Billy Dean has always been one of the greatest artist that has ever come out of Nashville. Billy possesses one of the best male voices in country music today and has held that distinction for many years.
With that said, this new album is absolutely fantastic! It is one of the most solid country albums I have ever heard. Each song is a gem and could easily be a hit single. I would have a very difficult time picking the next single release from this album if I was the A&R Executive for this record. "A Seed" and "Crazy Beautiful" are standouts for me at the moment but truthfully all ten songs are excellent. There is good diversity in styles here too. Up tempo boot kickers, country-rock, and beautiful ballads. This album is sooo good and fun to listen to, I just had to write this review to encourage others to check it out. The five star rating is well...
I have been a loyal Billy Dean fan since "Somewhere in my broken heart", his first #1 hit. Billy's style and mellow voice are always welcome. He is a consistently excellent live performer, and most of his albums are on my playlist of favorites. However, along the way I must acknowledge that there have been a couple of duds. Not a huge fan of his Richard Leigh covers album, or the very jazz influenced Christmas album. From time to time over the past few years, I have found myself thinking the Billy train has jumped the tracks a bit.
Good news! A Man of Good Fortune represents a return to the thoughtful, rollicking, hook-laden Billy The Kid of old. From the up-tempo banjo strains of "I can't leave a good thing" to the tender piano intro of "Laura Nadine" the 10 tracks of Good Fortune provide a satisfying listening experience. The die hard fan will find in this album reason to rejoice, while new listeners will surely clamor for more.
This is the best work Billy has ever done. He is story teller about life, love, and laughter. I absolutely loved this album.
