ARP 1346023 High Performance 2-Piece Connecting Rod Bolts
- Connecting rod bolts are the most important fasteners in your engine, the key to the entire rotating assembly
- Replacing inferior OEM fasteners can help you avoid catastrophic engine failure
- Manufactured from a heat-treated premium grade 8740 alloy chrome moly steel
- Rated in the 200,000 psi range, which is considerably stronger than OEM or even Grade 8 hardware
- Includes two bolts, enough for one connecting rod
Your engine's rod bolts are subjected to amazing stresses as they support the primary tension loads caused by each rotation of the crankshaft. With alternating tension loads and cyclic bending of the bolts, fasteners that aren't up to the task can break and cause catastrophic engine failure. That is why it is very important to install high quality fasteners that are able to exert a clamping force greater than the load imposed upon the joint. ARP has you covered with rod bolts that are substantially better than the stock OEM and most aftermarket bolts. These High Performance connecting rod bolts are manufactured from a premium grade 8740 alloy chrome moly steel that has been heat-treated to provide a tensile strength in the 200,000 psi range. Cycle testing shows ARP High Performance rod bolts to be nearly five times more reliable than stock bolts. This two piece set was specially designed for select Chevrolet applications (305-307-350 409 cid, with "B" head style).
