Hex Nuts are appropriate for use in low-strength assemblies
Zinc Plated Steel fasteners are suitable where strength and corrosion resistance are primary considerations
Drive system is a hexagon-shaped head
Fine threads tap better into harder materials and thin walls, and are stronger in tension than coarse threads
Ensure a lasting hold for any project
Most often used on machine screws and threaded rod, these general purpose nuts are for low-strength assemblies. Hex Nuts have flat tops with chamfered corners; bottoms may be flat or chamfered. Hex drive systems are driven with a wrench.
Steels are designated by a 4 number SAE Steel grade. The first two digits indicate the primary materials used to form the steel. The last 2 digits identify the percentage of carbon for the alloy (in hundredths). The steel used in these fasteners has a tensile strength ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 psi (pounds per square inch). Zinc Plating helps to prevent corrosion.
A threaded fastener's size name indicates information about the major, or largest, diameter, followed by the threads per inch. Fine threads are preferable when working with harder materials or when threading into a thin material. They are also stronger in tension than coarse threads, and generally provide higher shear strengths.

There hex nuts are a good quality, the dimensions are consistent and the threads are cut within specifications. I would highly recommend these for everyday needs.
Just as in the description. Chose the size, and you will get an excellent nut (A lot of them... In fact I read packet of 10 in the description but I got 100...)
Its a friggin nut. What can you say about nuts. It seems to conform to ASTM standards, at least well enough to screw on to the bolt. I marvel that Amazon can't be more selective on the items for which reviews are solicited. So, here goes: It has six (6) count them, sides which are brilliantly sized to fit a standard wrench - it's that smart of them. And, it's threaded clear through with threads that spiral up allowing the torque applied to the sides (remember there are six to choose from) and the genius of it is that the torque applied actually overcomes friction and converts the rotational force into linear force and this first makes the nut move. Once the nut contacts something preventing it's linear motion, the applied torque is now applied as compression force between the nut's surface and the object which it contacted. Now, the real genius is that the thread pitch is dimensioned in such a way frictional forces prevent the contact force from reversing the direction of motion.
