Silk Route's Smoked Paprika is a unique and versatile product. Silk Route's Smoked Paprika is regulated by the Protected Designation of Origin PimentÃ³n de La Vera (Extremadura Region in Spain), appreciated worldwide for its uniqueness and culinary properties. Its use is widespread in both international cuisine and is also known as the Spain's Red Gold and the ultimate Posh Spice. Sourced from a family business is located in Aldeanueva del Camino (CÃ¡ceres, north of Extremadura) which for four generations has produced artisan smoked paprika from La Vera, made from native peppers grown and harvested locally. These special types of peppers have been harvested in this area of Spain from late 15th century, where they found an ideal microclimate to grow. The production of smoked paprika from La Vera was established in the 19th century and its artisan process has remained intact ever since then. RENOWNED QUALITY The quality of our peppers 100% grown in La Vera shire (Extremadura Region, Spain), along with the traditional process preserved for centuries, has ensured our Smoked Paprika a unique grade of quality. The selection by hand alongside its artisan process of drying and smoking with oak wood fire makes it absolutely distinct and different from the rest of paprika or pepper powders produced in other world regions.
