Additional Information

Mirror or Extend Your Desktop Over 3 Displays
The Accell DisplayPort 1.2 to 3 DisplayPort Multi-Display MST Hub allows you to enjoy up to 3 DisplayPort monitors from a single DisplayPort output. The multi-monitor splitter supports 3 independent displays at 2048x1536@60Hz each with DP 1.2 multi-stream transport (MST) or 3 mirrored displays at 2560x1600@60Hz each with DP 1.1 single-stream transport (SST).

You can view a single image across three displays for gaming, graphic design, or spreadsheet analysis. You can also dedicate each display to a separate application for efficient and productive multi-tasking. Use 2 MST Hubs with a graphics card with multiple video outputs to connect up to 6 external displays -- ideal for digital signage applications such as video wall configurations.

Please note:
1. 2-hub configurations require a video card with 2 DisplayPort outputs.
2. The maximum number of displays is limited by the number of Display Pipes.

Together with two Dell E2414H monitors and two Cable Matters Gold Plated DisplayPort to DVI Cables, it has worked almost flawlessly for me. I can have three screens showing three different things (extend mode, all three displays are separate) - including 1080p YouTube clips with no dropped frames, and what feels like no extra CPU load. Every now and then though, after resume, I cannot see the Windows 8 lock screen, but in those cases I simply unplug it, unlock my Surface using the Surface screen, and plug it all back in. No big issue.

I've been using it for a few days now, through restarts, random unplugging and repluggings, etc. and it has worked admirably! A tad expensive, but good nonetheless. This was the only solution I found bar purchasing monitors with DP in and out (which are rather expensive), so despite hearing of potential SP2 issues, I took the plunge. What can I say? It has worked well, and I'll try to keep this updated if anything changes.

This broke after about a month of sitting on my desk and not being moved. After subjecting it to such harsh conditions as the modern office I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it failed.

Will someone please, please, please make one of these correctly? This is a piece of garbage with cable flex issues.

EDIT: I decided (as an engineer) to crack this open. The MiniDisplayPort cable is hand soldered to the PCB, with what appears to be no flux at all. These are tiny, likely 32 gauge wires. It's atrocious.

The vendor is marked on the PCB: Bizlink should be ashamed.
Bought this to use with my Surface Pro 2 but couldn't get it to work at all. The surface would detect the external displays but no picture on the screens. Tried using it with a Dell XPS 15z laptop and could get it connected to multiple displays but since the display port on this is probably not 1.2, it detected the monitors as one monitor rather than 2 separate displays.

I tried contacting Accell Customer Support to inquire if this hub was compatible with the new Surface Pro but no-one was available on the phone. I sent them an email over 24 hours ago but still haven't heard back from them. Will update this review if I hear back from them or if I can get it to work with the Surface Pro 2.

UPDATE: I did get it to work with SP2 but failed to connect again after rebooting the device. Accell support confirmed that it is not compatible with Surface Pro 2 and recommended to return the device.I would have loved for this to work but I guess I will be returning it.
