Weather the day with confidence with your own weather and weather prediction information; pinpoint accuracy right from your own backyard. This weather center uses patented Self-Calibrating Technology to provide your personal forecast of 12 to 24 hour weather conditions. Self-Calibrating Forecasting is generated from weather data measured by a sensor in your yard, giving you the most accurate forecast available for your exact location. The bold, easy to read LCD screen includes indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity with daily high/low information, heat index, wind speed/chill, multi-variable history chart, moon phase, atomic clock and calendar. Atomic clock and calendar are radio-controlled to maintain the correct time and date with split-second precision, and automatically adjust for daylight saving time (DST). Display stands upright for tabletop use or is wall-mountable. The wireless outdoor sensor features 3 different technologies in one easy-to-mount unit: thermometer, hygrometer, wind speed anemometer. One-year limited warranty. It's more than accurate, it's AcuRite.

This is a handsome unit with a small footprint which won't look ugly or upset the neighbors. It was easy to set up and the vanes are always turning, it even measures wind speed down to 1mph, something the Big Boys don't do. I have mounted it on a 10' pole where it captures all the wind and is not blocked by trees or houses. The signal is very strong and it captured the atomic time immediately. Now why it only gets 4 stars:
It mounts on a 3/4" pole, readily available at Home Depot. Despite the admonitions that a metal pole might attract lightning, get one anyway. A plastic pole will whip in the wind, and lightning will hit the highest object, your house not the anemometer. Mounting this illustrates a true design flaw. When this is placed on a 3/4" pole, it needs to be tightend onto the pole by two set screws which tighten the two halfs together. Good luck. The screws are deeply recessed and are so tiny you can barely even see them. I do not exaggerate when I say...
I bought this item for the anemometer and its a good thing thats the only thing I bought it for.To start with I use a Davis Vantage Vue for my main weather reporting to Citizens Weather Observer program and they rate it every day and it always passes on accuracy.I also have 3 portable Lacrosse stations and they are within one degree of the Davis Vantage Vue and the humidity within 4 percent which is acceptable. The reason I am saying all this is to say the Acurite instrument isn"t accurate without proof would be good. First the out side temp always reads 3 degrees higher and when sun hits the so called radiation shield it will be 7 to 10 degrees different. + or -2 degrees is acceptable difference but this doesn't even do that. The humidity is worse. It reads 10 to 20 percent too low except when the humidity starts to get closer to 99 percent and from about 80 percent on its accuracy starts to improve.Acceptable humidity difference is + or - 4 percent difference. If it wasn't...
I knew I wanted something that could read the wind and many of the products out there are very expensive. I read all reviews and decided on this one. I have had it installed for about a month and a half and I love it! The barometric pressure/temp/humidity always match what I see on the weather channel for my area. It is very easy to use and set up. I did want a backlight feature but then realized in order to light up the screen I have to be directly in front of it anyway so the backlight was not worth the extra money. It is a little unstable when sitting on a coffee table, and what I mean by this is that it frequently falls over due to the small base but it has not broke yet! We now have it mounted in the wall of our kitchen and I look at it every day.
The only thing I do need to do is move my wind meter. We tried to be lazy and not put it on the roof (it really needs to be up at least 10 feet off ground) to get an accurate wind reading. I plan to move it very...
