The Hurricane was Britain?s first eight-gun fighter and outnumbered the illustrious Spitfire by two to one in the Battle of Britain. The Hawker Hurricane was the first operational RAF aircraft capable of a top speed in excess of 300 mph. It was a robust, manoeuvrable, eight gun aircraft capable of sustaining fearsome combat damage before write-off. By July 1940 more than twice as many were in service with the RAF than the Spitfire. Paint colors needed: Matt Trainer Yellow, Matt Dark Earth, Matt Dark Green, Matt Black, Matt White, Metallic Gunmetal, Metallic Aluminium, Matt Flesh, Satin Oak, Matt Cockpit Green, Satin Coal Black, Matt RAF Blue, and Metallic Antique Bronze.

This is a relatively basic kit that still provides a decent level of detail. The fuselage fabric detail appears to be more realistic in scale than that on the Hasegawa kit which, IMO, is overdone. Though the Hasegawa kit excels in every other way, I like this kit because it provides a nice, economic build for all the different Hurricane schemes out there. It is also significantly easier to obtain and you can easily get 2 or more of these for what the Hasegawa Hurricane Mk.I kits are selling for when they pop up on eBay. I haven't built the kit yet, (hence the 4 star rating), but initial trial fittings seem to indicate it should go together with minimal fuss. For those who like to have a pilot in the cockpit, the one in this kit is excellent and the detail is equal to those in the Tamiya kits.
A great model and has an accurate detailed representation of the aircraft features. Only one very minor issue, some parts had to have the molding burrs removed and sanded. All parts fit together very well and I found it easy to build and follow the instruction and paint them. It was best to obtain the Humbrol paints that have the color code identified on the assembly instructions for the parts.
This kit must be from an old set of dies. There were some serious misfits between the wing and body, and the panel lines are raised instead of inscribed. One of the sprue sheets had a lot of flash that had to cleaned off the parts. Airfix has always had a good reputation, but this kit does not add to that.
