Dual-scale meter measures visible light from fluorescent, metal halide, high-pressure sodium, and incandescent sources up to 200,000 lumens per square meter (lux) or 20,000 footcandles (fc), with auto-ranging and zeroing functionality
Silicon diode sensor and filter are designed for indoor use at altitudes below 2,000 meters
User-selectable auto or manual ranging, data hold freezes readings on the display, minimum and maximum recordings display the lowest and highest reading, zeroing capability resets the null point, and angled light cosine correction corrects for angled light
Complies with Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) C1609:1993 and CNS 5119 general A-class specifications, and European Community Directives: 89/336/EEC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 73/23/EEC (Low Voltage) as amended by 93/68/EEC (CE Marking)
Powered by a 9V battery (included), and includes a 1.5-meter wire for positioning light sensor, and a protective sensor cap
The Amprobe LM-120 light meter measures up to 200,000 lumens per square meter (lux) or 20,000 footcandles (fc) of light output from fluorescent, metal halide, high-pressure sodium, and incandescent sources, has a silicon diode sensor and filter, and is designed for indoor operation at altitudes below 2,000 meters. The meter has manual ranging, a data hold feature to freeze readings on the display, minimum and maximum recordings to display the lowest and highest reading, zeroing capability to reset the null point, and angled light cosine correction to calculate the amount of light, regardless of the light's angle.
The meter is powered by a 9V battery (included) which has an average life of 200 hours. The sensor has a 1.5-meter wire for positioning the light sensor, and a protective sensor cap.

I wish I knew if this unit was accurate. I am leaning towards no because when I put the cap over the sensor it does not read zero but jumps around between 0-18lux. So I left the cap on the sensor and then stuck it inside a black sock the blackness thereof as the inside of a coffin on a moonless night and it still did not read zero. So I removed the battery then replaced it and zeroed the unit. It still does not read zero. I have an inspection area that needs to be 600lux. When I set this unit on the table it reads 200-203lux then it jumps to over 1900lux. Looks like I will be getting a different unit. I love amazon and the internet because the days of buyer beware are over. Just hit return item and print out a UPS tag and send your troubles back to where they came.
Took it out of the package and begin using without any problem. Operation could not be easier. We compared this unit with the clients readings and they were very close.
This is something I use in my work. It is a good size to fit in my tool kit, does everything I need it to do. The price was good.
