Dwelling mostly on British and Irish stone carvings, it seeks to reconcile the widespread prevalence of cup-shaped and similar markings all over the world to one another and determine, through the profuse use of secondary sources, the historical origin and purpose of the same. Containing important if partially dated material for the academic and a good springboard to other works for the occultist, it is a fine text infinitely worthy of modern consideration.
