The ARTEX PLB works with the only officially recognized worldwide dedicated search and rescue satellite network (operated by Cospas Sarsat). As this satellite network is funded by governments, there are NO CHARGES or Subscription Fees to use this service in the event of an emergency. When activated, the ARTEX PLB transmits your position and your ID to a Rescue Coordination Center via satellite link. Rescue services nearest to you are promptly notified of your emergency and initiate the Search & Rescue process. Your GPS coordinates are continually updated and the beacon's 121.5 MHz homing signal alerts responder of your location during the search. The ARTEX PLB features a unique mounting clip and a flotation pouch: The PLB can be firmly attached to the pouch with the provided lanyard to enable it to float.
