Description

  • SINGLE LOG MAHOGANY: the shell is hand made out of a single piece of solid mahogany from certified managed forests (NOT glued together wood pieces); the exterior is beautifully hand carved and looks great for decoration in your home or studio
  • WHY IT MATTERS: single log means there are no seams in the wood, so the shell produces extra-rich tone with resonant bass; this also eliminates stress points, making the shell extraordinarily durable
  • ZOOM IN: the exterior ornamental carving is done entirely by hand and wraps around the shell; there will be slight variations in the handmade artwork, making each djembe one-of-a-kind
  • DRIVING THE SOUND: you can get plenty of range from its premium goat skin rawhide head—from boomy bass to cutting slaps; it fills space indoors and outside if you're playing in drum circles
  • OF NOTE: the djembe comes tuned and ready to play right out of the box; the West African Mali Weave rope tuning system holds a long-lasting pitch, and we pre-stretch the ropes so it sounds great right away (comes with tuning instructions)
  • BY THE NUMBERS: mahogany shell measures 14" wide x 26" tall and weighs about 15.4 lbs; goat skin head measures 14" with a 12" playing area (head is slightly larger than the playing area because it wraps around and down the rim)
