W&N Artists Stretched Canvas 6X12

Prestretched Canvas...We have tried many brands of prestretched canvas; and we have listened to customer feedback as well. One brand that keeps coming out on top is Winsor & Newton. Their prestretched canvases are made with 8oz natural cotton duck. The stretcher bars are 13/16 inch deep and feature staple free edges- the canvas is stapled onto the back of the stretcher bars so the edges can be painted to display finished paintings with or without framing. Each canvas is triple primed with acid free sizing and two coats of highly pigmented acrylic primer (gesso). This priming offers balanced absorbency and tooth while preventing oil paints from sinking or soaking through. The stretcher bars themselves are kiln dried and have beveled edges. Each canvas is stretched by hand and there is ample canvas on the back if you should decide to restretch the finished painting. Ideal for use with oil acrylic and alkyd paints.
