What would you do if the love of your life was waiting for you...fifty years in the past?
Brielle Eden, a successful novelist living in New York City, is drawn to Paris for reasons unknown to her. Once there, she will quickly discover that not all is as it seems. Brielle is about to discover that there's a thin line between fantasy and reality...and sanity and insanity.
And when she wakes up in a hospital for the mentally insane, Brielle’s perfect nightmare is about to begin. Confused and badly injured, she finds that her memories of her life in Paris are gone. Worse, she’s being held against her will by a psychiatrist who believes she is impersonating a young woman who’d died tragically six months earlier.
As her world threatens to spin out of control, a mystery man appears promising to rescue her...and to give her the answers she desperately seeks.
Brielle is about to discover that life is far stranger than she had ever imagined, and that the love between two adjoining hearts can never be broken...

Having been an avid reader for over 50 years, I've read it all and have burnt out on several genres, which is why when I see the word "romance" in a book's description I immediately move on to check out the next book in line. I've been there, done that, wrote about it and did it all a hell of a lot better than most romance writers...and their characters...so there's no point in reading about it again. However, I love a good fantasy, so I couldn't resist reading the description, just in case I might want to give "As I Fade" a shot. Besides, I REALLY like the title. So I bought it (thinking I would just skip over the intimate scenes, like I normally do), and a few hours later, I was really glad I did!
Imagine waking up in a hospital only to find you have no idea of how you got there. Then you learn that it's not just a hospital, but the mental health ward of that hospital...in a foreign country...and the hospital staff insists that it's 1946 when you know damn well it's...
I am not sure what JR Rain saw when he decided to back this book. Its pretty awful. I finished it only because I thought maybe it would get better. Confusing time travel story line, wimpy lead (Brie, blech), girly man sounding lover, giggle worthy love scenes (she couldn't even put her hand around "it"???? please.). My expectation was something that we are used to seeing from JR, strong female (or male, Knighthorse) lead, witty dialogue, a great plot. This was just not good at all.
I must say I am totally at a lost as to why so many people gave this book a positive rating. I found it confusing and boring. There is no love story here, they never got that far and as far as the storyline...there doesn't seem to be one. I refuse to purchase the next book. I can't stand books that never explain anything just to force you to buy their next book. Save your .99. This isn't even worth that much.
