As most know everything in the Marvel Universe (aside from the X Men and Fantastic 4 franchises, and the previous Spider Man movies) are telling one long, continuous intricate story leading up to the Avengers Infinity Wars movies. The movies are telling the main story and the TV Shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and Daredevil are either filling in some of the gaps or or are just on the fringe of the larger story.

This movie is continuing the story lines that played out in the first Avengers Movie and Captain America Winter Soldier. It starts out with them mopping up the Hydra forces and trying to find Loki's scepter. In the process Tony Stark and Bruce Banner start messing around with Artificial Intelligence, in the hope of creating a force that can replace the team of Avengers, and end up creating Ultron who is played brilliantly by James Spader.

The other main additions to the cast are Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch played by Aaron Taylor... Read more
I liked comic books as a kid, though in those days I was more a DC fan than a Marvel groupie.
The reason was simple: DC comic book heroes were pretty straightforward characters. They may have had some issues (Batman's origin story left him flawed in many ways) but they generally did not have any doubts about who they were and what they were about. Marvel heroes, on the other hand, seemed to be so much more angst ridden and their lives overly complicated. Puberty was hard enough, I just didn't think I needed to stagger home from another day of school and then read about how difficult life is even if you have superpowers.
Fifty years later I get it: Life is difficult. It is full of angst, drama, divorce, disappointment, war, disease and, as a result, I've become a Marvel movie fan.
Given that different - and hard won - perspective, I enjoyed "Age of Ultron" on many levels.
For example: I liked the overall premise, that brilliant people often create... Read more
This movie wasn't anywhere near as bad as a lot of reviews would lead you to believe... but it did have flaws and felt very overstuffed. It actually seems much better in retrospect, when seen in relation to Captain America; Civil War. Without giving anything away in terms of spoilers... some parts of the plot that just felt unnecessary fit into the earlier film a lot better, knowing what's going to come afterwards.
