In my opinion, pulling films and productions from the archives, then assembling into different episodes doesn't make great programming. Yes, you may see something here that you haven't viewed previously but between the mediocre image quality and sometimes deliberate propaganda inaccuracies even a true aviation fanatic will eventually lose interest.
I was quite disappointed in this series, to include others aside from this specific episode. That it was produced in 2000 is something you may want to take note of, though even then it has the amateurish feel of something I'd have believed was actually released in the 80s. It really has that low budget, low tech, low quality feel - even using archival footage which of course isn't going to be in HD. More to the point, while the narrator/host is a best-selling author and military history buff, I really did not feel this episode provided any information or footage I'd not seen elsewhere. The DVD artwork may lead you to think this is a much more slick and professional product, but I'd have to suggest a pass. I've given it three stars, though two might have been more appropriate, as Amazon notes "it's OK" for that third star - and that's about how I'd describe this. You can find all this and more for free on YouTube, etc. And if you are hoping for some interesting insight into...
love it. I do not believe I have seen so much footage of air combat in one place before. I do have problems sometimes getting the videos to play. Not sure to blame my internet server or Amazon Prime or the PS3 I'm playing it thru... The content of these videos is really good, tho.
