The BAND-IT T30069 center punch tool has a tension handle and a floating punch head and can be used on a workbench to tighten and secure a BAND-IT center punch clamp around a fitting. The tool accepts BAND-IT center punch clamps that are 5/8" wide and between 1" and 8" in diameter. The tool comes with an adapter that enables it to accept clamps that are 3/8" wide and 13/16" or 1-3/8" in diameter. The tension handle can be pushed downward with short strokes to tighten the clamp. The continuous take-up function can tighten a clamp of 8" diameter until it measures 3/4" in diameter. The floating punch head can be hit with a mallet (sold separately) to create a dimple lock in the clamp to secure it. The tool is made of carbon steel, which is resistant to impacts and wear. It weighs 3.2 lb. and measures 26.4" long. This product meets ASTM International Standard A366 for cold-rolled carbon steel.
