Can popularity be sold off the rack, like a pair of jeans? That is what Susan Hunter and startup company "BMOC" set out to discover in this humorous and light-hearted mystery and suspense novel set in the modern world of entrepreneurs, media barons, and millionaire tort lawyers.

After her parents died in a horribly public act of random violence, Susan backed away from the world, getting by on the minimum of effort and shying away from any type of relationship. Susan's journey back begins when she becomes intrigued with quirky entrepreneur Preston Marsh, who has made a fortune pursuing oddball business models. Whether harvesting coins from fountains or selling musical tones, Marsh's passion is contagious. Susan quickly finds herself truly engaged in her work for the first time in years, helping Marsh build his new company BMOC (which stands for Big Man on Campus) into the one-stop shop for teenage popularity.

Unfortunately, BMOC has made powerful enemies by threatening the profits of large media companies that advertise to teens. Several media barons conspire to murder a young LA client of BMOC named Monica Silverberg, making it look like suicide, and creating an orchestrated firestorm of media outrage, class action lawsuits, and Congressional legislation aimed at toppling BMOC. Susan rushes to LA to run the company's response to this public relations nightmare, but quickly finds herself running for her life.
