The LCD tell you an accurately temperature, and provides a color-coded back light based on the measured water temperature. The LCD color is Blue when the water temperature is lower 95Â°F, it is Green when the water temperature is from 95Â°F to 102.2Â°F, that is Just Right, and it is Red if the water temperature is over 102.2Â°F, that means Too Hot.

Good to Know and Optical Use
It takes a while for the sensor to get up to temperature, from off (room temp) to 100Â°F water, it takes about 30 seconds to stabilize.
It is recommended to not exceed water temperature of 140Â°Fahrenheit,also, better to check the temperature of the water also with the forearm.
Please replace the battery when number shows incomplete or dark screen. ( included brand-new 3 AAA batteries lasts 50 hours)
For the Purple Snail Thermometer, it reads only in Fahrenheit not in Celsius.
