Babysitter Handbook Manual - How to get paid more: Babysitting is now an excellent earner for teens and seniors wanting paid work
This is the best Babysitter's Handbook Manual ever.
Being a babysitter is more than just looking after children and hoping nothing goes wrong. By following the suggestions and techniques I recommend, you can be the best babysitter in the world. You'll also earn top fees!
Being the best means you’ll earn top money and people will ask you AGAIN before they ask anyone else. You can be as busy as you want to be. Grandparents reading this Manual can also turn babysitting into a nice income-earning line of work. You’ll notice I said WORK, not play, not hobby, because you get paid. That makes you a professional.
Tip 1: Parents of children can be as different as humans can be, but they all have one thing in common. They love their children and they want to know their kids are safe while the babysitter is in charge. That means they will put a huge amount of TRUST in you. They expect you to know how to behave like a real babysitter. When you’ve read this report and you follow my guidelines, you WILL be a real babysitter and you will JUSTIFY their trust.
Tip 2: Every family has RULES which govern their household. These rules will differ from one household to another. You should be familiar with the rules which operate in your household. They will probably be similar to the rules in the families where you babysit. But there will be some differences and you must KNOW those different rules. There won’t be many difference, but knowing those differences is important.
Tip 3: All rules have a reason behind them. You might not understand the reason, but – trust me –parents established the rules and they know the purpose behind each rule. Usually these rules involve simple things like the foods children may eat, when they are supposed to go to bed, what they may or may not watch on TV, what family pets are allowed to do or not do etc. For instance, my dog is allowed inside the house but not allowed in bedrooms. Some families don’t have this rule.
Tip 4: Let’s look at YOU and set some rules. First, you MUST have a diary. This may be a book diary, or an electronic diary, or a designated calendar with big spaces for writing on. The purpose is so you can make commitments about future dates and know what you’re doing and when. It is also where you make a note of how much you got paid. More about money later.
Tip 5: When you decide to become a professional babysitter you don’t just stumble into this work. You must MAKE PLANS. Please follow the plan sheets I’ve prepared for you in this report.
Tip 6: Check with your parents about this whole babysitting work thing. Every babysitter is different. Some young people are extremely reliable and capable at age 10, and some teenagers are unreliable and do stupid things at 15. Probably you’re somewhere in between. Your parents will know when you are capable and reliable enough to become a professional babysitter. Follow their advice. Tip 7: So you now have a diary. Next you need a notebook and pen. Make this a substantial item, such as a hardcover exercise book. It is likely to be used for several years and it will become your principal tool. Inside the front cover write your name, address and telephone number. The reason is so your notebook can be returned to you if you should leave it behind or lose it in the street etc. Tip 8: Divide your notebook into five sections. Put tabs on each section. Section A: This is where you reserve two facing pages for each family where you might go to babysit. Section B: This is where you keep emergency telephone numbers. Section C: This is where you keep details of each babysitting assignment. Complete this when you arrive on the job. Section D: Your code of behavior. (You should show this page to client parents.) Section E: Your financial records. Money IN and money OUT. This is private. Do not show this to your clients. Tip 9: Compile a list of 5 - 20 families where you would LIKE to be their babysitter
