There are two questions that I am most often asked by people who have read my books. â€œDoes Niederbipp really exist, and if it does, how do I get there?â€
One woman came up to me at a book signing, and after telling me how much sheâ€™d enjoyed my first two books, declared that she absolutely had to move to Niederbipp. Her neighbors and community were a bore to her. The people were ignorant, self-righteous and mean. But she was convinced that if she could live in Niederbipp, eat Samâ€™s bread, drink Isaacâ€™s tea, and walked down streets filled with happy people, she would be happy.
â€œCan you tell me where it is?â€ she persisted. â€œIâ€™ve looked on every map and atlas and spent a lot of time searching for it on the internet. Please, youâ€™ve got to tell me where it is?â€
I looked at this woman and sadly told her that she would never find it.
