Great fit and finish, good quality monopod, but legs are plastic, which probably are the most used or abused part of the gear. The head on this monopod dose not have any drag, the Pan motion is smooth but it is either open or locked, The Tilt motion is not that smooth, it is a bit jerky. and gain it is either open or locked, if you try to close it enough to create a drag, all you get is jerkier motion. over all it is a great monopod for photography but not video. This is really not a video monopod, but then again I should have guessed that from the price, however, it is a great value as a photography monopod.
Hope this helps.
I love my Benro Monopod! I have both the Benro and the Manfrotto and the Benro is better because of the dual pan heads. I have a video of the comparison on the popular tube site if you want to check it out search " Benro VS Manfrotto Fluid Monopod Comparison - Which one should you buy? " This S2 is only for small cameras I would highly suggest spending a little more and get the s4 you won't regret it!
For me the real problem with this monopod is the head - I tried it with a Canon XA10 - very small, lightweight AVCHD camera. It balanced the camera well, but the pan was awful. Fully open, it would twist the monopod rather than move the head. And when I held the monopod tightly, there is a significant "bump" spot on the head when panning.
Tilt wasn't smooth at all.
As others said - probably good for still photography; definitely not for video.
