Pinewood Pro PRO Bent 1.5 Degree Steering Axle | 1 Axle | Easy Turn Screw Driver Slot | Polished and Nickel Plated | Reduced Wheel Wobble and Friction for Peak Performance
Angled for Performance: This derby car axle is designed with a 1.5 degree bend in the shaft. This allows you to gently steer a front wheel left or right so your car rolls straight down the track.
Convenient: This axle has an Easy Turn screwdriver slot, so the axle can be easily turned without becoming damaged. The slot also saves the cost of an axle bender tool or an axle popper tool.
Minimized Friction: This derby axle for Pinewood Derby racing features two grooves cut in the shaft to reduce friction and wheel wobble while providing a graphite store for extra speed.
Angled Heads: The axle head has also been strategically angled to minimize friction further. Pinewood Pro takes every step to ensure your derby car has the best chance at racetrack victory.
Exclusive Finish: The pros at Pinewood Pro additionally applied a signature, nickel-plated finish to this polished axle in the name of speed. Save time getting your car to maximum speed!
The PRO Bent Steering Axle from Pinewood Pro has a slight 1.5 degree bend and a slotted head so you can easily turn it with a screw driver. This bend will steer your wheel left or right to make your car steer straight or steer gently into the rail for a rail rider. Getting your pinewood derby car to steer straight is a critical speed adjustment and it is the most challenging thing to accomplish. I've personally spent hours tweaking my son's cars so it steers straight. If your car doesn't steer straight, the wheels hit the guide rails, causing your car to lose valuable speed. The PRO Steering Axle is made from our PRO Super Speed grooved and nickel plated axle. USAGE: Just replace one of your front axles with the PRO Steering Axle oriented so the screwdriver slot is vertical (straight up and down). Then gently turn the axle with a screw driver to make that wheel steer left or right until your car rolls straight for 6 to 8 feet. It's as easy as that! You can also use the steering axle to create a Rail Rider car. The PRO Steering Axle from Pinewood Pro...saves time, while getting your car to maximum velocity. Package contains a single (1) Steering Axle. IMPORTANT NOTES: You only need a slight 1.5 degree bend to steer your wheels. THE 1.5 DEGREE BEND IS A VERY SLIGHT BEND THAT YOU CAN NOT SEE WITH THE NAKED EYE. However, if you roll the bent axle on a flat surface, you will see that it does not roll smoothly compared to an unbent axle.
