I gave season 1 a 5-star rating, and this DVD has at least twice the content, so I'm pretty sure this deserves 25 stars, but apparently 5 will have to do.

There's one thing in particular that I feel compelled to note for some of you who may have watched the first season's DVDs: Whereas the commentaries on those were pretty much just tiny episodes of the podcast with Scott and a character paying almost zero attention to the episodes, this season's commentaries (on all 20 episodes) are actual commentaries, in that the commentators spend probably more than half the time actually talking about the show. These commentaries include Scott, head writer Neil Campbell, writer Eva Anderson, and a few guest actors, writers, and characters, such as Paul F. Tompkins, Ben Schwartz, Paul Rust, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rodney Waber, and the Bachelor brothers (babe).

So that's a very nice plus, and of course the show itself is hilarious, as one expects. The sketches and... Read more
Great! Love the extras. Commentary on each episode. I wish the extended-interview/deleted scenes section had a "play all" button (you have to play each one individually, which is a tad tedious).

Somewhat disappointed that episode commentary track (and season 1 DVD) is mostly CBB-podcast-style skits (with characters arriving "unexpectedly"). The podcast-style commentary are very funny, but that's what CBB podcast is for. Maybe it's just me, but for me, I wish the episode commentary was actual running commentary (anecdotes, details, etc), rather than them just doing bits. Sometimes it seems on DVD commentary tracks the participants are more interested in doing something different, or keeping themselves entertained, rather than doing typical "boring" running commentary on what's happening on the screen.
I found Scott Aukerman's Comedy Bang! Bang! as a podcast years ago and I am an avid fan at this point. The TV show follows the podcast's style of an interview show mixed with lots of characters, improv, surrealist humor, and plenty of running jokes to reward the fans.

The second season has started strong (probably stronger than the first) and has held up to the CBB brand quite well. I felt obliged to buy this season since I don't have cable, and have been entertained for free for countless hours on the CBB podcast. Having purchased it, I'd say it's worth the price on its own without all of the podcast guilt.

Also, HD probably isn't worth the extra 1$/episode. Given the content and the fact that they don't seem to mess with the aspect ratio in SD, I'm going to stick with SD from now on.
