The Oceanside Shell (white polished lustrous shell) is a wonderful urn to assist in scattering ashes. The Oceanside Shell is 320 cubic inches, made of clay and cotton, and 100% biodegradable. It will float briefly, then sink gracefully and break down naturally over time. A highly detailed large shell sits upon the sand making this a large 17 inch lovely urn. Simply place a loved ones ashes in a biodegradable water soluble bag that is included. Then place the bag in the bowl. The bowl attaches to the bottom of The Oceanside Shell with biodegradable glue and clips. Remove the clips before burial. The bowl has a 5" flat base so The Oceanside Shell can beautifully sit on display during a ceremony. The bowl has an additive that is 100% biodegradable and allows it to be buoyant in water so it can float briefly before gradually descending. To achieve Optimum float time: gently shake urn back and forth to evenly distribute the weight as it may have settled unevenly during transportation. Gently place in water with 2 hands, allowing only the bowl to touch the water. The float time varies, depending on amount of ashes and water condition. Depending on water condition, it can float anywhere from about 30 seconds (rough water) to over 3 minutes (calm water). Adds a beautiful affect to photographs at a funeral ceremony.
