Bird's Eye Maple Wood Knife Handle Scales (Each Pair is Unique) 5" x 1-1/2" x 3/8" [EW101]
- NOTE: This photo is a representative example that has been sanded to give you an idea what the wood looks like; your scales will not look exactly as pictured because every pair of scales we sell is an one of a kind item.
- Off-white or cream color, with hints of golden hues. Pattern features a diversity of "eyes".
- Bird's Eye Maple has a Janka Hardness rating of 1450 lb(f)
- Sold as a bookmatched pair cut from a single block. Sold as a pair. Each is at least 5" x 1-1/2" x 3/8". Use sealer to bring out the color and close the pores when finishing.
Bird's Eye Maple is a unique figure occasionally found in Sugar Maple, which grows across northeastern North America. This occurs as the tree is attempting to get more sunlight, and starts multiple branch buds that don't mature. It is usually an off-white, cream color, with hints or golden hues. Use sealer to close the pores when finishing.
