The Elecom Bluetooth receiver dual amplifier class1 NFC (black) [Japan Import] is an excellent Bluetooth receiver to use with most earphones and I highly recommend it with only one caveat noted below. Be forewarned, this item ships from Japan and all the documentation, with the exception of a short quick start guide in English, are in Japanese. I do not understand any Japanese but I did not have any problem understanding the controls and using the device from the quick start guide. The specs on this device are excellent for stereo music with Bluetooth 4.0 (I think) with EDR, A2DP, and aptX. If your source device supports aptX technology, as my Galaxy S5 cell phone does, and your source material is high bitrate, like Spotify Extreme Quality or an MP3 file up to 320 Kbps, AAC, FLAC, etc. you can listen to near CD quality music when connected to high quality earphones or stereo. The Elecom receiver also works fine for standard Bluetooth quality if your source does not support aptX... Read more
Pros: Looks good
Well built
LONG battery life (I've gotten over 16hrs on a single charge, marketing claim is 18hrs, I think they are right on)
Sounds exceptional powering my RHA MA750 IEMs
Has a sturdy clip + rubber/silicone (extra help from slippage/movement)
Mic: Everyone can hear me well, even when in fairly noisy conditions

Cons: Size (See images for size comparison to Kinivo BTE40), it's not big, unless you compare it to the Kinivo BTE40, but it would be nice if it could be slightly thinner...
The volume buttons, they aren't bad, but I'm not sure why they went with this type of control over just regular buttons, other than for making it look different (which is a good thing actually), but they are a little difficult to get used to at first, your first instinct is to put your thumb one the pause/play button to adjust volume, so that's what takes getting used to...

I've been upgrading my on the move audio system since I've ripped all my CDs to 320 bit rate to my new quad core tablet, bought FiiO E07K Andes headphone amp, and Sony XBA-H1 Earphones, all of which considerably upgraded my listening pleasure.
I read about the Elecom Bluetooth Receiver Amp on the Web and thought I'd give it a try to simplify the setup I took out with me on my daily walk - the question was, would it be as good as the Fiio Andes?
Wow - It wasn't, it far surpassed it. I went through all my test recordings - A Sheffield Drum Music Test Record, Pure by Hayley Westenra, Keith Richards' Talk is Cheap etc, and at all sound levels there was zero distortion and the audio was so alive and clear, with deep satisfying base and each element of the music having its own identity and life within the detail rich soundstage.
One of the things I was really pleased with was that there were no tone controls - it just doesn't need them to adulterate the sound.
I have a... Read more
