When I downloaded this cookbook I thought the cookbook would have all kinds of recipes using butter to prepare baked goods, spreads, etc. Instead I discovered the cookbook contains various recipes ranging from butter-based spreads, nut butters and fruit butters. Some of the recipes will require canning the butter to preserve it. The directions are not very clear on how to can safely.

Apple and Cinnamon Flavored Butter (requires canning)
Banana and Vanilla Flavored Butter (requires canning)
Pumpkin Flavored Butter
Mozzarella Cheese Flavored Butter
Raspberry Flavored Butter
Mixed Herbs Flavored Butter
Roasted Peanuts Flavored Butter (reminds me of peanut butter)
Maple Syrup Flavored Butter (Uses apples, spices and maple syrup to make up a fruit butter)
I would have given this cookbook a higher rating if the publisher...
It's not bad... Maybe I'm already so intimate with butter that I was kinda hoping for more than just a collection of recipes for compound butter. I mean, soften butter, add this, add that, combine, roll into bar, freeze or refrigerate. That's it, in a nutshell. Maybe the next revision will hold more promise.
I bought the book because I have been thinking about making my own butter. There are only a couple of recipes in this book that actually explain how to make butter. The rest of the recipes are flavored butters, combining purchased butter with other ingredients. It's ok, just not what I was looking for.
