  • One (1 ea.) 28 Inch, Black Bearing 5/8" Spiral Tilt Window Sash Balance; Length of Metal Tube: 28 Inches; Actual Tube Diameter: 9/16" - Designed to support 30 - 40 pound sash per pair.
  • Please look closely at the image provided for your balance selection before finalizing your order. Identify your balances by the length of the metal tube, the color of the plastic tip, and the style of the spiral end.
  • Spiral balancers for tilting windows come in two diameters, 3/8" and 5/8" (measures 9/16") and are available in three carrying capacities, which is indicated by the color of the balance bearing or tip. These tip colors are Red, Blue, and Black.
  • The spiral balance tip color indicates the spring weight inside the balance. Red Bearing for sashes weighing 10 – 25 pounds, Blue Bearing 20 – 30 pounds, and Black Bearing for 30 – 40 pound sashes.
  • Window balances fail over time even if the window is not used frequently and are simple to replace. DIY balance spring replacement will save you hundreds of dollars per window and can be completed by almost anyone in minutes!
