Losers Weepers
This is the first of a series of CD releases for Etta's Chess albums. All will include copious bonus tracks.
Cut in Chicago late in 1966 with renowned Windy City soul producer-songwriter Monk Higgins at the helm, Call My Name was very much the precursor of 1968's Muscle Shoals-recorded Tell Mama long-player, yet it has never been released in the CD age. The Call My Name album is bolstered here with a generous 12 bonus titles recorded variously in Alabama, Memphis and Chicago between 1967 and 1969.
Every track is mastered from master tapes. Not a disc dub in sight. This compilation and notes are by Mick Patrick.
