The fabric is a 4-way stretch, water resistant material that will keep a compact camcorder protected when in use (with screen closed) and when not in use with the cover worn backwards so the camcorder can be carried in a backpack, on car seat, or wherever it may be exposed to elements such as dust and moisture, the two worst things for electronics aside from high impact. It fits most camcorders that weigh in the 8-12 ounce range. The CamSac can be operated with the CamSac camera protection cover on, but the screen must be closed. Some camcorders will record with the screen closed, but many will shut down. All camcorders will however record with the screen rotated as if to take a self filmed portrait, then close the LCD screen so the image is facing out. Now you may put the CamSac on a compact camcorder.
