Thomas Samuels invented his camera on June 30, 1885.
His invention supported the lens as to enable it to swing both on a horizontal axis and on a vertical axis, and to have likewise vertical and horizontal adjustments.

Thomas Blair patented his camera on May 10, 1887.
He got rid of the swinging back that was generally attached to camera-boxes. He added a pivotal extension-frame that is capable of horizontal or vertical swinging movements. Thomas also added a swinging lid onto the camera adapted to serve as a cover to the front of the camera.

On Sept 4, 1888 George Eastman made his improvements to the camera.
This invention relates more particularly to improvements in that class of photographic apparatus known as detective cameras. The invention consists in the novel and improved form, construction, and arrangement of parts constituting the case or body, the lens support and shutter. He was an American entrepreneur who founded the Eastman Kodak Company and popularized the use of roll film.

Frank Brownell invented this camera on April 29, 1902.
This invention relates particularly to the cameras adapted to be folded compactly and capable of being carried in the pocket. Frank Brownell was possibly the most influential camera designer of all time.
