The Canon EOS 650 is a 35 mm single-lens reflex camera. It was introduced on 1987, Canon's 50th anniversary, and discontinued in February 1989. It was the first camera in Canon's new EOS series, which was designed from scratch to support autofocus lenses. The EOS system featured the new EF lens mount, which used electrical signals to communicate between the camera and the lens. Focusing and aperture control were performed by electric motors mounted in the lens body. The EF mount is still used on Canon SLRs, including digital models.

Well, I suppose I should give a good thank you to the seller. The price was right and the camera was in pristine condition (from 1987!) and it is as if it has been sitting in a temperature controlled safe for the past 25 years. Everything works, no scratches or blemishes. Like a new camera. And only $25. How cool is that?!
Just started using it with Ilford black and white film because digital hasn't figured out how to do it as well as film yet. Haven't developed my first roll yet but I am confident it will turn out as it should with the only inconsistency possibly being operator error.
I also own a Canon T3i that I use for digital photos and video. I primarily use my Zeiss EF F2 that is interchangeable on both cameras.
I plan to scan my b+w photos as extremely high resolution scans. Maybe put a book together of old buildings, landscapes, and models.
Nice camera and very good design. But I have found two minuses (this why minus two stars): - only center sensor for autofocus - 2cr5 battery, hard to find chargeable, and not that cheap (there are non-rechargeable, but I refuse to use non-rechargeable batteries in slrs...) Otherwise, simplicity is great in this camera. It has a LOT of features, but are elegantly hidden. I wish they did such digital slrs today...
Considering the fact that we live in a digital society, this camera is considered out dated. however anyone selling this camera for $[...] bucks is absoulutly insane, after paying over $[...] for this camera, this camera does exactly what the latest slr's do today. The ONLY difference is that most slr's have of course is the lcd screen, which only allows those who r inexperienced to just point and shoot, this camera is extremely capable of operating as most current market camera's. I personally have digital & 35mm 1 Nikkon D40 Nikkon n 70 Cannon EOS 650 And Cannon Powershot S5 15 & looking to get a new Cannon EOS as well ( I Love Camera's )But to get rid of a $[...] camera for $[...] bucks is like giving a CRACK Head Crack, For Free! Learn this camera, Or pass it on to child, to get the real feel of what a true professional camera feels like, then when you step up to the current SLR's You would be even more versed in taking better quality photo's even if you have to go get them...
