Child in Time

2007 digitally re-mastered CD reissue from the Deep Purple vocalist's solo years. Child in Time was the first album by Ian Gillan after his departure from Deep Purple in 1973. The Ian Gillan Band comprised Ian Gillan himself, Ray Fenwick (guitar), John Gustafson (bass), Mike Mornan (keyboards), and Mark Nauseef (drums). Released in July 1976, it reached 55 in the UK album chart and shows the band pursuing a jazz rock direction. The title track is an amazing reworking of the Deep Purple classics from Deep Purple in Rock. The languorous 'Let It Slide, almost 12 minutes in length, gives the band the opportunity to showcase their skills. Seven tracks. Edsel.
