Clean eating is good if you can make the food taste nice, the recipes provided within this book are well written out and easy to follow. There is a basic guide to why clean eating is good and how it will benefit you however I fell Samantha could have gone into more detail on this information as it would have given more of an understanding to the whole amount of benefits. Overall I found Clean Eating beneficial with some great recipes.
This book lacks balance. Actually, there are many things inherently wrong with this book. The words "clean eating" on the title, elimination of food choices, and list of foods to eat at specified portions." While I agree with the food recommendations, I do not agree with the specificity. Apparently, I have to "remember to always use steal [sic] cut oats as traditional oats will become much too soft..." What if I like softer oats? What if the portions are recommended to me by the book such as "2 cups of pitted cherries" are not enough or too much for me? This book's assumptions are its biggest flaw. People have different TDEE - Total Daily Energy Expenditure, so to recommend a meal plan - or portion plan - is just nonsensical to me. Not once was the concept of counting calories or macronutrients and micronutrients discussed. It does not provide the tools for the readers to integrate a healthy lifestyle, and instead promotes an obsessive behavior in avoiding...
There are several, maybe 4-5, short books. The main title clean eating is just that. It goes sort of like ‘what is clean eating?’…a medium sized intro on that and straight to the recipes. I see no fault in this, since ‘clean eating’ is pretty much apparent anyone, that it is all just about getting rid of unhealthy food and eating more healthy ones. There are some recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are few, but this book’s redeeming feature (in my eyes) is that there is a small friendly intro for every recipe. Like it tells you how many it serves, or the purpose that particular recipe is suitable for you etc. etc. The other books in this set are mostly some sort of diet book, so I guess that sums up – CLEAN EATING! :D
