As a professional photographer and extensive user of filters, Jean COQUIN has invented a range of filters which is unique for its quality and diversity. It is important that a filter matches the optical precision of a lens. Definition, contrast and colour reproduction must not be sacrified to creativity. Which is why each COKIN creative filter is made of the material best adapted to the filter's ultimate use. Some filters are made out of organic glass (coloured and graduated filters, etc...) while other are made of mineral glass (polarizing filters, etc ...), yet all undergo strict a quality control at each stage of production and guarantee photographers the quality provided by modern manufacturing technology.
The COKIN range can be classified into several families, the more important being:
Colour filters, including Black and White, Colour Correctors, Neutral Density and UV/Skylight filters; Diffractors and Stars; Centre-Spots, Neutral and coloured; Pastels and Diffusers; Optical effects including Close-Up, Multi-Parralel and Multi-Images filters; Graduated filters, including standard colours, Sunset and Fluorescent colours; Polarizers - Neutral and coloured; Special effects such as Rainbow, Double Exposure, etc...
The COKIN filters can be used either individually or combined together which allows a great number of creative possibilities. AND NOW ... BE CREATIVE !!!

Out of 20 pictures I took using this diffuser, may be only about 4 turn out with the zoom effect shown. The rest of the pictures are all blurry. This filter doesn't work in the day at all, only work at night when there is spotted light source in the surrounding area and sometime this filter will shown a fresnel lens effect on picture ( Having a lot of concentration ring equally space between each other).
What a fun filter to play with! One thing to note, you cannot use this and get the proper effect using the zoom on a zoom lens. The effect is lost when you do that.
This isn't a filter I intended too use all the time, and I don't. But it does give me that special effect I'm looking for in some of my shoots. Yes, you can digitally alter your picture but when the picture is shot like that, the effect is more stunning. BTW, I also still shoot on silver.
The Cokin filter system is extremely versatile, though it could be deemed expensive for the occasional user. Try it, I believe you'll like its flexibility.
