Book III in Jim & Susan Harran's series is all-new, with no repeats from their first two books. Over 1,000 color photographs are included this time, and the book concentrates on cups and saucers that are readily available to collectors. An expanded section on cabinet cups and saucers is provided, and some of the categories from books I and II are again covered: late nineteenth and twentieth century European and American dinnerware, English bone china and earthenware cups and saucers, miniatures, and mustache cups. There are also two brand new categories in the book, Japanese cups and saucers and art glass cups and saucers made by the leading glass factories in Europe and the United States. A marks section, helpful appendix, and bibliography are once again included, as well as useful tips for dealers and collectors. 2007 values.

Amazon has not separated the reviews of the 4 books in this series. The two books are similar with different examples or colors of the same style. For the most part the same makers are listed. Each page contains 3 photos with some having a close up of details. If you love one and want more, buy the other. Book III has small segments on Japanese and glass. Both are very nice additions. It also shows several complete sets. As of this writing, Book III is much cheaper and a better bargain. If you are buying the book for the pricing guide, the prices are outdated. I noticed that only one person wrote a review since the date of publication for Book VI but did not indicate whether their review was for an earlier edition. My comments relate to Book VI. I was very impressed with the 3 photos per page of cup and saucer sets. The variety of colors, patterns, styles, etc provide a far more interesting visual treat than I had imagined. I can see why so many people have become hooked as...
What a great book! I only wish it were in hardback! I am afraid I will wear out the paperback too soon! The photography is excellent and the colors are just spot-on! As a new collector, this book and the other three are fantastic sources for me. The only improvement would be the marks for each one beside each one. I use these as reference for myself and I have to say they are used on a weekly, if not daily basis. Many books have such poor design, they contain the author's collection, the author's trip to a museum or a similar vein. This book and the previous three follow a design. You know where to go within each book to find a certain style, design, manufacturer, artist. I love this system! If only all collector authors were required to be so methodical! If you are a collector or just a lover of cups & saucers, these are the books for you!
Unfortunately this book has the more highly priced collectibles and none of the ones I have were found in the book. I do like the book very much though as it will be helpful in identifying other markings and possible aid in finding "treasures" in the future. I don't regret purchasing this book which arrived sooner than I expected and in great condition.
