Most Helpful Customer Reviews

Redundant information. Nothing added to the original WPA interview. Does not give a clear picture of the Gullah culture.
The stories made me laugh and cry. Chandler's interviews are edited brilliantly bringing the Gullah community's experience to life in a way that both reminds us of the horrors of slavery as well as the true spirit and courage of those who fought to survive. A fantastic read!
