- This is a hard molded closed-cell EVA case - the same kind of hard material that you might find in a foam roller used for stretching and rolling leg muscles for runners at a professional gym. The case has two layers of this material - an outer shell and inner liner - that hold a cushion of air between them and carefully protect the instrument.
- We use heavy-duty luggage-grade thread throughout, and stress points are double-stitched. The case is zipped together with a huge #10 self-healing zipper and heavy-duty zipper pulls. The inside of this case is lined with soft fleece, and the instrument is safely held in place with a 1.25" pad of open-cell foam under the lid.
- This case fits all common concert ukuleles and has an interior 6" x 5" x 2" compartment under the neck of the instrument to store extra strings, a strap, picks, tuners and more. Overall case dimensions are 28.5" x 11" x 5.5".

Phitz is a Chicago-based company. We do all of our instrument case design work here. We manufacture our cases at our wholly-owned sewing factory in China. We control every aspect of design and every aspect of quality, and we think that matters a lot.
We care about everything. We individually inspect each case many times during the manufacturing process. We use better materials, thicker foam and tougher thread. We call out better sewing details than you'll find in other products.
We use a big, beautiful, #10 self-healing nylon zipper from a great manufacturer and custom-mold our zipper pulls. We pull-test each batch to guarantee their strength. You'll never know that our stronger thread and obsessive testing kept your case from coming apart three weeks after you bought it - when the competitor's case that you're considering considered would have failed for lack of similar attention. The details matter.
The EVA foam in these hybrid hard cases is 7 mm thick with a durometer (hardness) of 75 - a little harder than your average car tire. It's an incredible amount of protection for sliding in and out of your car, carrying around town, riding on the bus, or wearing over your shoulder on a bicycle. It's also suitable to carry on to an airplane for overhead storage. We designed this to be a good case and we hope that we've succeeded. A note about fit: we call this a "universal baritone ukulele case" because it fits most all of the baritone ukuleles on the market. You'll find a perfect fit with any standard baritone uke like the Kala MK-B, Oscar Schmidt OU-52, Lanikai Koa UkeSB, or Hilo Mahogany Baritone.
