I can admit that I've missed out on some pretty big opportunities in my life: career decisions, investment choices and just meeting people in general. Every time we are face to face with a situation we deem awkward we are given a choice to either run away or face what we fear. This has been my problem for a lot of my life, choosing the former over the latter. I think one of the biggest lessons I've learned in my life is to commit to my fear, in other words, I should do what I'm afraid of; for most people that's confronting problems.

Luckily, this book addressed just that. This book addresses two key components of better conversations: tactics and most importantly, the psychology behind it. I really enjoyed the first Conversation Tactics book so I was excited to see book 2 out. I've always struggled with difficult conversations all my life, some would classify me as passive aggressive. What Patrick's book did well was to make it so that I can express how I feel without turning the conversation into an argument. Highly recommend for anyone who has a tough time with hard conversations.
I just bought this on my Kindle so I don't know why it is not showing up as a verified purchase. I've read through the first three chapters and I'm compelled on commenting on what will work and what will not work ever. King starts this book about how an individual was taking his assigned parking spot at work. At the end of the story you learn that the act wasn't being done maliciously.

About three years ago I purchased a dvd series called "How to Deal with Conflict" Essentially, the skills taught in that series are showing up in this book--except in the dvd series the info is in a more academic format and the terminology is very academic specific. This book as of right now is essentially the same info being presented in a different way but the same. OK, so why do I bring this up?.
