Corey Park thought of leaving Fairplay, Texas but each time his father always found himself in trouble. Being his only living kin, Corey did everything to take care of the trouble his father caused. The town folks were very understanding of Corey's situation and offered to help him but he declined, stating that he always repay his debts.
Corey had the unfortunate honor of finding his elderly neighbor, Mrs Thompson dead in her home one day. That tragedy brought the one woman that was ever able to knock Corey on his a**, Bella Thompson into his life.
Bella Thompson came to Fairplay, Texas to attend to the things her aunt left her. She planned to start afresh, that sure did happened when she encountered sexy as hell, Corey Park who made her feel things she thought she could ever feel again.
The more time Bella spend knowing Corey and the folks of Fairplay, the more she felt like she found a place where she belonged....her HOME. When danger and greed...
This is the worst of the series, yet I'm giving it three stars because, just like I gave the ones that were 3.5, three, I'll stick to the magic number on this instance as well. So, issues with the story: grammar ("didn't mentioned"), punctuation (missing stops or wrong quotation marks) and plot inconsistencies (Savannah's second pregnancy lasts way too long). Regarding characters, I got no idea of why Corey was so bad. He was shown as the sweetest, kindest, most gentlemanly man ever, almost outdoing all the men in the previous entries. I get that he changed from book 7 to book 8, I get that Bella affects him, I get that his dad's issues shake him... but if he was supposed to be such a mess, how could've he changed SO MUCH in just a few months? And the way things developed between him and Bella felt way too forced and rushed. While I appreciated change in previous characters (Savannah and Travis), in this instance I was at a loss. Bella's mystery issue I figured out before...
Corey had wanted to leave Fairplay but his father has been causing problems that he needs to fix before he can leave.
Bella moves to Fairplay to take over her aunt's farm that was left to her. She has no idea what she is getting into but knows that this is the break she is wanting after the her last encounter with her ex-boyfriend.
Bella literally runs into Corey and knows she is in trouble from the start. But she comes to know that Corey needs someone in his life like she does but wants to take it slow.
When things start happening to Bella she knows she feels safe with Corey and that he will protect her. Will they realize what they have before it is too late.
