Chamomilla recutita An annual herbaceous plant which grows to a height of 15-50 cm and has a strong and recognisable perfume. It has an upright and branched stem with very few leaves. The upper part of the stem has isolated flower heads with an empty, convex receptacle. It has tubular yellow flowers and white ligules. Camomile contains the following substances: azuleno, flavanoids, essential oil, bisabolol, flavones, coumarin, mucilaginous and bitter substances. Camomile has the following properties: antiphlogistic, conditioning, disinfectant, wound healing, sedative, digestive, purifying and anti-inflammatory. Camomile is used in medicine to treat hepatic colic, fever, insomnia, rheumatism, eczema, haemorrhoids and menstrual disorders. At Corpore Sano we use Camomile extract to lighten hair and protect the scalp. We also use it in skin products to cleanse the face, leaving it pure and smooth. Henna is the Arabic name for the Lawsonia Inermis shrub. It reaches a height of 2 to 5 m and grows in the Middle East. The leaves of this shrub are dried and pulverized to make Henna powder. A reddish dye called Henna is extracted from the plant's dried and pulverized leaves. The plant grows in humid areas of North Africa and South Asia. Henna is very popular with women in Islamic countries and they use it to dye their hair, nails, fingers and feet. An essential oil extracted from its small white-yellowish flowers has been used over the centuries to make perfume. Henna contains the following substances: tannins, flavanoids, triterpens, lipids, sugars and lawsone. Henna has the following properties: astringent, colouring, strengthening and sedative.
