Almost every pool player learns position play through experience - shooting tens of thousands of shots over months and years of playing the Green Game.
Here's an idea - set up the layouts in this book and in a few shots, learn the precise cue ball speed and spin necessary to get shape on the next shot.

To win games, you need to learn cue ball control. This means figuring out how to pocket the first object ball, and then (somehow) get the cue ball into position to easily make the second ball.

On the practice table, set aside five to ten minutes to set up several shots and using the speed and spin tips, get the exact results shown. Once you have these trustworthy playing skills, simply figure out your first and second shot. That will tell you the speed and spin you need to put on the cue ball.

The book is divided into two major sections:
â€¢ Half table layouts (six groups) â€“ Each group contains 11 sets. These layouts are designed to help you learn how to maneuver the cue ball within a small playing area. Half table layouts require less travel distance but more finesse in maneuvering. Studying and practicing these shots will improve your short table positioning skills.
â€¢ Full table layouts (six groups) â€“ Each group contains 12 sets of table layouts. These layouts are designed to show you how to maneuver the cue ball using the whole table. Full table layouts require moving the cue ball over much greater real estate. If there are random object balls, the shot you decide on may require a slight modification.
